For better or for worse...

Fucking hippies...

You only think it's for worse if you don't even lift.

What is this green bullshittery?

They think parsley is a vegetable.

Foliage has no place on the plate.

my meat to vegi ratio for todays lunch: .6 lb hamburg, few slices of onion and a few banana peppers (made all snugly in a nice hamburger bun)
![]() 03/16/2015 at 14:48 |

is the white part where the ratio is even, or is the bone/fat just a coincidence in placement?

I LOVE veggies, but parsley could hardly be called a vegetable now could it?
03/16/2015 at 14:52 |

I've let it to the opinion of the commenters.
I'm not really in the mood for arguing with those who think that pizza is a vegetable.
Or with those who think that not eating meat at all makes them better.
Way too many people see things only in black and white, nowadays.
I need to be more like Switzerland, let the others fight and get away with all the money.

It's not black and white; it's protein and not protein.

Not-to-scale Alaska makes this whole thing more dummerer. Lower 48 would have worked fine.

I'd like to meet (meat?) those parsley eating folks in Idaho and Montana.

No, it's about balance. If you get too much protein and not enough fibers, good fats, vitamins, minerals and even carbs, you will be seeing the doctor quite soon.
Also, you need to eat based on your daily activities, someone who does office work will need a lot less calories and carbs than a miner or a construction worker.

Pure coincidence,

Fuck. I'm from Alabama. The only meat I had for lunch was what was in my potstickers. That's not enough dammit!

I think it has iron or something, like spinach.

It's not a map that illustrates the type of food per state. It's a map that covers the meat to vegetables ratio in the average meal, for the whole country. Having your state on green or fatty meat or on pure meat is just a coincidence.

That may be but spinach hardly have any iron at all though, well no more than other green veggies that is and just slightly more than a hamburger patty of the same weight. What's worse though is that spinach contains high amounts of oxalate, and that will actually keep the body from absorbing said iron (and actually remove iron from the body).
BUT.. Spinach DO have plenty of vitamins though.

No burger is complete without tomatoes and mayo.

Looks about right. Except, where does the cheese fit in? Or is that technically a condiment?
03/16/2015 at 15:39 |

And works great in pasta.

It does, spinach is awesome. Tastes great.
03/16/2015 at 15:47 |

Well, there's no grains in there either. The graphic is meant to point out that we don't have enough vegetables, to balance the meat we eat.
![]() 03/16/2015 at 15:48 |

Oh I know, it just made me realize my meal didn't have enough red meat :)

Isn't that the stuff you throw of of your plate immediately?
![]() 03/16/2015 at 15:54 |

I'm just saying that, ideally, the vegetables (and possibly the meat) really should be covered in melted cheese product.

Only if you're 8. And I think you're talking about cilantro.

You need references for your stats.

WTF? Alaska isn't anywhere near the coast of New Mexico!
![]() 03/16/2015 at 16:21 |

No, cilantro is awesome. Parsley is much less so.

White meat is good too.
And raw fish, if it's correctly prepared and served.
